About APTA
As an organization, we strive to:
- Promote and improve the educational welfare of the children of Washoe County.
- Improve the image of and increase the public understanding of the roles of Pro-Technical Administrators and School Psychologists.
- Encourage professional activity, growth, cooperation and study among Pro-Tech Administrators and School Psychologists.
- Assure the equal, fair, and just treatment of all Pro-Tech Administrators and School Psychologists.
- Serve as the collective bargaining representative of its' members for purposes of improving terms and conditions of employment in consonance with the principles of the laws of the State of Nevada.
- Work in cooperation with other School Districts, State and National Professional and Technical organizations
CommittedWe are an organization that desires to be driven by member involvement in the development of the Association dues structure, financial decisions, professional development, grievance representation, retirement issues in addition to continuous rotation on the APTA Board and the negotiations team.

CollaborativeWe are unique in that we have the opportunity to build an organization together that will offer each and every one of us the opportunity for continued enhancement as professionals by allowing us opportunity to be trained and train through District development and ancillary professional organizations our members belong to.

CoordinatedWe are an open organization that welcomes member attendance at Board meeting. Check the APTA website or contact an APTA Board member for meeting location and/or changes, board meeting minutes, governance documents, public documents and member forms. The APTA Board asks that you provide advanced notice of attendance in order to ensure adequate space.

APTA is a professional organization recognized by the State of Nevada as a Nonprofit Corporation with Articles of Incorporation on file with the Secretary of State. The Internal Revenue Services has granted APTA official exemption from Federal Income Tax under section 501(c)(05) of the Internal Revenue Code. APTA files an annual Federal Form 990 Return of Organization Exempt from Income Tax that is available for public inspection. APTA’s Constitution and By-Laws are approved by the “General Membership”and the organization is financially solvent.
